Helen & Joey Estate
We composed the score for this short promotional film for Helen& Joey winery winery located in the Yarra Valley, east of Melbourne.
The region has a tradition of producing Premium Cabernet Sauvignon (and Bordeaux blends), Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This film depicts the estate’s mascot, the unicorn, which like wine, is an enigma.
Dumb Ways to Valentine
DUMB WAYS TO VALENTINE
Dare was asked by McCann to create soundtracks for ‘Dumb Ways To Die’ to tell new gruesomely adorable stories for the various characters from the wildly successful viral campaign.
Dare brought to life (and death) various spots to mark Valentines Day (17 million plus unique views), April Fools Day (11 million plus unique views), a Halloween series, translations into French and Spanish and a series mixed with live action.
The viral success continues to climb with combined views of over 60 million. The game surpassed Facebook messenger, Crossy Road and even Candy Crush to become the No1 downloaded app in over 85 countries with 5.3 billion mini game plays.
JEWELS OF GROWTH
Dare composed and produced the score for "Jewels of Growth" for Qatar. This epic film was shot across 5 continents. The score is a fusion of Middle Eastern and Western instruments - oud, darbuka, ney, riq and santur with orchestra, childrens’ voices, and operatic textures.
It tells the story of bringing growth and abundance from Qatar to all corners of the world.
Dare originally composed the score to the director’s hand-drawn storyboards long before any filming had taken place.
The film’s form is a triptych with archetypal themes. The opening section depicts the boy's quest to find and disburse the "jewels of growth", the next chapter illustrates the sewing of the “jewels” and the final sequence shows the reaping of an abundant harvest.
Dare created the music theme and sonic ID for Melbourne’s iconic institute of technology - RMIT. The theme was used across all broadcast media, social media and streaming platforms.
The Australian Open - Grand Slam of the Asia Pacific. The theme was used across all broadcast media, streaming platforms, and at the tournament itself.all broadcast media, streaming platforms, and at the tournament itself.
We wrote the original song "Empty Streets" especially for Tourism Queenslands "Where Else?" campaign - It actually started out as more of an "old world" Australian country style ballad.
For the final version we took the song in a different creative direction - a warm Louis Armstrong jazz feel - We brought in some of our favourite musicians for the rhythm section; Ollie McGill Jules Pascoe, Ben Hendry and Novak Conrad.
Aemen McNellis and Ben Gilespie provided the playful dixie style brass.
Rhythm of Life
Dare produced and arranged much of the Music for Jason Coleman’s Latest show - The Rhythm of Life.
Jason is a world renowned dancer and choreographer who choreographed the Sydney Olympic Games Ceremony.
We composed the score and created the sound design for this ambitious TVC for Leo Burnett China for Anchor Beer. The brief was to create a track that seamlessly transitions through six different time periods.
We created a motif as the common element and then orchestrated and developed it for each scene. We then recorded authentic period instruments and used appropriate recording techniques for each segment.
It was a fun challenge to go from light orchestral, beer hall, 60s pop, disco to contemporary all within 60 seconds
